A Bit About Me
Hi, I’m Jeanette Leroux.
I’m a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with a Master of Social Work from King’s University College and a Minor in Thanatology—the study of death, dying, and grief. I specialize in grief counselling and psychotherapy in London, Ontario, offering support to individuals navigating loss, transition, and the emotional weight that comes with it.

Grief isn’t always about death. It can come from a breakup, a lost dream, a job change, or simply the life you thought you’d have. Whether your loss was expected or sudden, quiet or earth-shattering, I’m here to hold space for your unique story. Together, we’ll explore your experience through tears, reflection, or even moments of laughter—whatever your grief needs.
I have a deep passion for supporting clients through complex grief, including losses to suicide, unexpected death, and Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID). I also provide MAID-related counselling for individuals and families, both before and after the process, with care and respect at every step.

Grief takes many shapes. Whatever yours looks like, you don’t have to
carry it alone. I'm here to walk with you—gently, compassionately, and at your pace.

In addition to grief work, I also offer trauma therapy, including EMDR, which can help
with processing memories and experiences in a way traditional talk therapy isn't always
able to do. We move at a pace that feels right for you.

Take the first step. You're not alone.
Jeanette offers a meaningful approach to healing
Jeanette’s approach to counselling is rooted in the belief that grief is not something to “fix” but a journey to be honored. She offers a non-judgmental, supportive environment where individuals can process their emotions, make peace with their losses, and move forward in a way that feels right for them.
Areas of Focus
Seniors & End of Life
Aging, illness, and end-of-life transitions come with unique emotional and spiritual needs. We support seniors and their families in London, Ontario with grief-informed counselling, legacy work, and therapeutic presence during life’s later chapters.
Family Therapy
Families face stress, loss, and transitions that can strain even the closest relationships. Our family therapy sessions create a safe space to improve communication, rebuild connection, and navigate challenges together. Serving families in Ontario virtually with care, compassion, and clarity.
Non Death Losses &
Life Transitions
Grief isn’t just about death. Divorce, career shifts, infertility, and identity changes can all lead to feelings of loss. We offer specialized therapy in London, Ontario to help you name what’s missing, honour your experience, and move through change with support.
M.A.I.D. Support
Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) can bring complex emotions for individuals and families. At Authentic Living London, Jeanette provides compassionate, non-judgmental support before and after MAID, helping you process anticipatory grief, meaning-making, and emotional readiness with care.
Virtual EMDR with Jeanette
When something overwhelming happens, the brain does not always fully process it. EMDR helps the brain complete that processing so memories feel less intense, less emotional, and less likely to be triggered in daily life. Jeanette offers virtual EMDR therapy for individuals who want trauma informed support in their own safe and comfortable space.
The core of EMDR is bilateral stimulation. This means gently activating both sides of the brain while the client focuses on a memory or feeling. In virtual EMDR sessions, Jeanette uses several effective sensory tools, including guided eye movements, alternating sounds, and tactile stimulation using self tapping. She is trained to adapt EMDR thoughtfully for online sessions and take time to ensure you feel grounded, prepared, and supported throughout the process.

Our Belief About Grief
Grief is not something to fix—it’s something to support.
At Authentic Living London, we honour grief as a natural and valid response to loss. There’s no timeline, no “right” way to feel, and no single path through it. Whether your grief stems from death, life transitions, or other kinds of loss, your experience is real and worthy of compassion.
We believe:
-
Grief doesn’t need a cure, it needs care.
-
Sharing your story makes grief more bearable.
-
The process can be longer and heavier than anyone expects—and that’s okay.
-
Grief looks different for everyone. There are no rules, and no one gets to tell you how to feel.
-
Crying isn’t the only way to express emotion, and not crying doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong.
-
With the right support, everyone has the strength to carry and move through their grief.
Let’s leave the “shoulds” behind and meet your grief with presence, not pressure.
