Meet Our Intern Therapists

Hi, I’m Mirlande Dickinson!
I offer a warm, hopeful space where healing begins with being truly seen and heard.

With a background in Women’s Studies, Feminist Research, and Social Work from Western University, I’m currently completing my Master’s in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville. I’m a certified Solution-Focused Therapist and a registered member with both the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.

My training includes trauma-informed care, CBT, Narrative Therapy, and suicide and crisis intervention. My approach is grounded in compassion, intersectionality, and a deep belief in your capacity to grow—even through pain.

As a transnational adoptee of Haitian descent, raised in a northern Ontario town where I often felt like I didn’t belong, I understand the complexities of identity, resilience, and healing. I’m here to help you notice what’s going well, even when life feels heavy—and to support you in creating meaningful change.

Let’s begin your journey, together.

Hi, Karissa Paterson!
I’m here to walk alongside you with care, compassion, and a deep belief in your capacity to grow.

Rooted in narrative therapy, strength-based approaches, and trauma-informed care, my work focuses on helping you reframe your story and reconnect with your inner resilience. I offer support to young adults and adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions—with a focus on creating a space that feels safe, inclusive, and grounded in empathy.

My background in mental health, addictions, and housing support has shaped how I understand the unique and layered experiences that impact emotional well-being. I tailor each session to meet your needs, offering not just tools—but a relationship built on trust and respect.

Currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, I blend evidence-based practices with a heartfelt, human approach.

Wherever you are on your journey, I’m here to support you in finding clarity, strength, and a sense of forward movement.

Authentic Living London is proud to be an approved practicum site for the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) program at Yorkville University.

As a practicum site, we offer a supportive and ethical environment for students to develop their skills while receiving supervision from experienced professionals. This partnership allows us to provide compassionate, evidence-informed care to the community at reduced rates, making therapy more accessible to those in need.
