The History of Authentic Living London
Authentic Living London was born out of the personal experiences of its founder, Gabrielle Ferguson. Having faced several experiences with grief in her own life, Gabrielle deeply understood the difference between those who were able to truly support her and those who had good intentions but did not have the skill set to effectively help. These lived experiences led her to a powerful realization: there was a significant need for a place where people could receive compassionate, skilled support during their most vulnerable times. And so, in 2022, Gabrielle founded Authentic Living London, a grief counseling clinic dedicated to helping people navigate grief and other emotional challenges with care, respect, and understanding.
Gabrielle’s journey with grief made her realize how crucial it is to have practitioners who not only understand the theory behind grief but also have firsthand, lived experiences. She knew she wanted to create a space where those who were struggling could find support from people who truly “get it” — from practitioners who are trained in grief and mental health, but who have also walked the path themselves.
Since its establishment, Authentic Living London has worked with individuals from all walks of life, helping people of all ages, from as young as five to as old as 92. The clinic’s impact has been profound, supporting individuals through some of the most difficult moments in their lives. In 2024, Authentic Living London expanded its services to provide general psychotherapy, reaching even more people with a wider range of needs.
In 2023, Gabrielle’s vision grew even further with the launch of Authentic Living Institute, a new branch of the clinic that focuses on keynote speaking and workshops about grief, how to support others who are grieving, and suicide prevention. This expansion allowed the clinic to spread its message of compassion and understanding even further, reaching communities and organizations in need of education and support.
With an ever-growing team, Authentic Living London now employs six dedicated practitioners, each committed to providing the best care for their clients. Looking ahead to 2025, the clinic will be offering support groups to bring people together and further enrich the sense of community and healing.
Additionally, in 2025, Authentic Living London will roll out a pay-what-you-can therapy program. This initiative will provide low-income individuals, who previously may not have been able to access therapy, the opportunity to work with an intern. This program not only supports individuals in need but also gives student therapists valuable real-world experience.
At Authentic Living London, we believe grief is a natural and normal part of the human experience — not something that needs to be cured, but something that requires support. We understand that when people share their stories with us, they are giving us a gift, and we are honored to hold that space for them. Everyone who walks through our doors is deserving of care, understanding, and support.
We also hold that when we approach each issue with curiosity, judgment disappears. When people feel understood, shame fades away. Our job isn’t to tell you what to do, but to walk alongside you in your struggles, offering tools that will help guide you toward a life that feels authentic to what you hold to be true.
Authentic Living London is more than just a clinic; it’s a place where healing is nurtured, stories are shared, and people are supported on their journey toward emotional well-being. If you’re looking for a space where you can be truly seen and heard, we invite you to join us at Authentic Living London.
